JAMMU, Apr 28: Nagrota and Akhnoor Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 86 bovine animals and arresting 11 smugglers.
As per police sources, teams from Police Stations Nagrota and Akhnoor laid check points in their jurisdictions and intercepted ten different vehicles bearing registration numbers JK22A-8788, JK13D-0784, JK18B-6654, JK08A-0047, JK02AD-0568, JK03AE-5953, JK01AC-6776, JK12A-4348, JK11B-2104 and JK12A-2511.
During checking, police teams rescued 86 bovine animals and arrested 11 smugglers, who were identified as Mukhtayar Ali, son of Ali Mohammad of District Budgam, Mohammad Altaf, son of Bazir Ahmed of Makhan Durro Shopian, Mashooq Ahmed Wagay, son of Mohammad Sultan Wagay of Mazgham Kulgam, Yasir Ahmed Fambra, son of Farid Ahmed Fambra of Nowbagh Larnoo Anantnag, Mohammad Farid, son of Mohammad Lateef of Treeru Kalakote Rajouri, Mudasir Ahmed, son of Imran Ahmed of Khanan Wangat Kangan Kulgam, Jahangir Hussain, son of Feroz Din of Dingla Jangial Poonch, Basharat Hussain, son of Mohammad Aslam of Dingla Jangial Poonch, Javed Iqbal, son of Mohammad Isar of Badhan Rajouri, Chet Ram, son of Subash Chander of Mangnad Poonch and Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Bader Din of Chaktro Poonch.
Cases under FIR Numbers 163/2021, 164/2021, 165/2021, 166/2021, 167/2021 and 168/2021 under relevant sections have been registered at Police Station Nagrota, while FIR Numbers 107/2021 and 108/2021 under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Akhnoor.
Further investigation into the cases is going on.
Police teams led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Showket and assisted by Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Shakeel Ahmed and SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar made the arrests under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
