SRINAGAR, June 8: Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has said that Bakshipora and Tengpura (Batmaloo) were the most neglected parts of the city and Municipal Corporation Srinagar has failed to provide basic amenities to the residents of the area.
Addressing public meetings in the area today, the PCC president said though this area was also part of the city but development was not visible all around. The people were suffering for want of basic facilities. He also asked the people to get ready for elections and maintained that Congress would emerge a single largest party in 2014 polls.
Prof Soz who was accompanied by former Minister Khem Lata Wakhloo, senior vice president Mohd Muzaffar Parray, Annayatullah Rather and Mohd Maqbool, also listened to the problems of the locals and assured that he would take up the issue with concerned authorities. The locals also projected the demands like sports field, electric infrastructure/ transformers etc. He directed Mr Parray to lead a delegation to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to take up the public issues.
