Tour operators reiterate commitment to make Amaranth yatra a success

JAMMU, June 8: Federation of Associations of Tour Operators of Jammu reiterated their commitment to make the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra a success.
Addressing a press conference, here today, BB Kotwal, Secretary of the Federation and president, Bhaderwah Tour Operators Union said that this year also the yatris visiting J&K to perform darshans of Shri Amarnath ji will be welcomed in very healthy spirit.
He added that religious tourism has grown in J&K multifold evolving enormous earning opportunities for those involved in tourism trade.
“Multifold increase in yatra and Shri Amaranth Shrine Board (SASB) Policy for giving economic opportunities to Jammu as well as Kashmir has brought the tourism service providers of J&K in main stream of tourism policy at national level”, he said.
SASB’s policy to offer economic opportunities to low volume service providers through various trade associations has proved a boon for them and had opened to vast field of economic and religious tourism since 2009, he added.
Chairman of SASB and Governor NN Vohra’s decision for allocation of helicopter ticketing quota to various Jammu and Kashmir based tourism trade associations for the benefit of their members will also prove fruitful in the time to come, he said.
“As only few member associations are beneficiaries of this helicopter seats quota but will rationally distribute it to all the members for the benefit of their clients”, Kotwal informed.
Among others present were Ajay Kumar Gupta, Gurmit Singh, Jatinder Kaul, Ajay Gupta, Amrik Singh, Abhay Bakaya and SS Madni.
