RAJOURI, Apr 29: Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Rajesh Shavan and DDC member, Seri Sangeeta Sharma today laid the foundation stone of a much demanded 100-meter span bridge from Dharat to Lamberi.
Among the others, BDC Chairperson, Seri, Neena Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambyal, Executive Engineer, PWD Nowshera, Prem Kapoor, Sarpanches, Panches and locals were present on the occasion.
Besides, the former MLA, Nowshera and J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina was also present on the occasion.
Executive Engineer, PWD apprised that the project has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crores and the work on the project would be completed within 18 months.
It was further apprised that more than 25000 population from adjoining villages like Lamberi, Dandesar, Bagnoti, Rajal, Siot, Dharat, Dabber, Mangaldevi, Gagrote, Kalal, Deing, Seri and Sayal would be benefited from the construction of the said bridge.
It is pertinent to mention here that the bridge was earlier sanctioned under CRF Plan and recently approved under the Languishing plan.
The bridge is also important from a strategic point of view as it would facilitate the movement of the Army and other paramilitary forces during any untoward situation and it connects Nowshera and Sunderbani with the LoC.
DDC asked the concerned Executive Engineer to expedite the work on the project in double shifts and on a war footing basis to ensure that the work on the project is completed within the already set deadline so that necessary benefit is provided to the common masses in terms of connectivity.
DDC also asked for maintaining quality while executing the work on the project and ensuring the regular monitoring of the project.
