BSF jawan injured in Pak firing

JAMMU, May 30: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was seriously injured in targeted firing by the Rangers at Regal post on the International Border (IB) in Samba sector late this evening.
Violating ceasefire, the Pakistani Rangers fired at BSF 182 battalion’s Regal Post from their Bhure Chak Post at about 7 pm.
A BSF jawan on guard duty at the forward post was hit by the bullet in his abdomen and was seriously injured. He has been identified as Deepak Singh son of Hari Singh R/o Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
He was evacuated from the site of firing and admitted in the District Hospital, Samba. Later, he was airlifted to Government Medical College hospital in Jammu in critical condition.
The BSF didn’t retaliated but would lodge protest with the Rangers tomorrow over the unprovoked firing, official sources said.
