JAMMU, May 4: Condolences poured in over demise of Former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Jagmohan Malhotra.
The officers and staff of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board have condoled the demise of Jagmohan Malhotra, who was the founder Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. In this connection, a condolence meeting was held at the Spiritual Growth Centre, Katra today, in which Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, other officers and staff of the Shrine Board participated. A two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to the departed soul. Similar condolence meetings to pay homage to Jagmohan were also held at Bhawan, Adhkuwari and all other establishments of the Shrine Board.
Panun Kashmir organised a webinar to condole the passing away of Jagmohan, the former Governor of the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir. While paying glowing tributes to the former Governor, Virender Raina said that Jagmohan was the savior of Kashmiri Pandits who saved them from near total annihilation in 1990. He added that Jagmohan was a true nationalist who reversed the onslaught of the secessionist forces and saved Kashmir from the clutches of Pakistan. Virender Raina, Upinder Koul, General Secretary, Kamal Bagati, General Secretary (Org), Sameer Bhat, Convenor PK Youth, Ashok Chrungoo, PK Bhan and Kewal Krishen Koul were among others who addressed the webinar.
Advocate Ashok Sharma, National Coordinator AICC Vichar Vibhag and former legislator condoled the sad demise of former Governor of J&K and Ex-Union Minister Jagmohan who died at the age of 94 years giving a remarkable service to the nation in general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular.
Congress has expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Jagmohan. In a condolence message on behalf of the party rank and file, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has said that Jagmohan has rendered valuable services to the nation and Jammu and Kashmir during his public life especially during his tenure as Governor.
J&K National Panthers Party held a condolence meeting on the sad demise of Jagmohan. Prof Bhim Singh, President, J&K National Panthers Party in his condolence message expressed deep shock on the demise of Jagmohan.
Members of Batwal Youth Development Committee paid tributes to Former Union Minister and Former J&K Governor Jagmohan. Committee’s Founder RL Kaith said Jagmohan had been the only Governor in State of Jammu and Kashmir, whom the people from all walks of life loved to the extreme and highly praised his contributions to the Jammu region, including the creation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Katra in 1986. Committee President Tilak Raj Bassa said Jagmohan worked in very difficult times in the early 90s when the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism raised its ugly head and J&K State had all law and order problems, but brave heart faced them head-on.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) condoled the sad demise of Jagmohan, Former Governor J&K and saviour of ill-fated displaced KP community. Kundan Kashmiri and Tej Pandita, President and Vice President of KPC while condoling the sad demise of Jagmohan, stated that whole KP community got shocked to listen the sad news of demise of Jagmohan and termed it a great loss to the nation as he was a great nationalist, patriotic , great administrator, man of ethics and values.
All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference expressed deep sorrow and grief on the sad demise of Ex Governor of erstwhile J&K State Jagmohan Malhotra. Condoling his death, President ASKPC RK Wangnoo expressed grief and said that Jagmohan will be remembered forever for his services to the Nation in general and J&K in particular.
Shri Ram Sena, UT President Rajiv Mahajan condoled the demise of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Jagmohan Malhotra. “May Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed soul”, he added.

Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Sr. BJP & KP leader while paying rich tributes to former G9vernor, Jagmogan said that it was he who gave the first voice to the excesses, genocide and ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits in his world famous book, My Turbulence in Kashmir. He stood like a rock with the community in its hour of test and played the best innings as a nationalist to perform his role in Jammu and Kashmir. For Kashmiri Pandits, Jagmogan is not dead since he lives in the heart of KPs for ever.
