JAMMU, June 9: A 20-year old boy drowned in Ranbir Canal at village Purkhoo, here today.
The boy identified as Pardeep Kumar, son of Krishan Kumar, resident of Akhnoor drowned in the Ranbir Canal in Purkhoo area of the city outskirts when he slipped in the canal, a police spokesperson said.
Though it was not clear whether he had alone gone to the canal or was accompanied by anybody, he said, adding the search is on to fish out his body.
A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station Kanachak and investigations started.
