JAMMU, May 5: In a rare act of honesty, the boys facilitating cremations at Shastri Nagar Cremation Ground returned a gold Kada weighing two Tolas to its owner who has inadvertently lost it at the crematorium while performing the last rites of his relative.
“After cremation of a Corona deceased relative last day, a man while removing his gloves inadvertently left his Kada (an ornament worn by gents around wrist),” Nitish Kumar said.
He further said that today some men visited the crematorium enquiring about the lost ornament.
“As we had no idea about that we took their contact number and said that if found they will be intimated,” Kumar informed adding that today while cleaning the premises of crematorium they found the ornament and called its owner and returned the same to him.
Owner of ornament Ramanpreet Singh from Kunjwani area expressed gratitude to the employees of crematorium and hailed their honesty.
It is pertinent to mention here that due to the increase in number of deaths of Corona patients in Jammu cremation grounds in Jammu are overburdened.
The dedicated team of boys at Shastri Nagar crematorium include Kaka Goswami, Chandan, Rohit and Nitish Kumar.
