3 drug peddlers arrested in Budgam

Srinagar, May 7: Police in Budgam today arrested three drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party from Police Post Soibugh at a checkpoint established at Wadwan Chowk intercepted a vehicle (Santro) bearing registration number JK04A-4106 with two persons on board.
“They have been identified as Javid Ahmed Beigh son of Abdul Rashid Beigh resident of Nasrullapora Budgam and Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh son of Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh resident of Galvanpora Budgam,” the police said.
It said that during checking, officers were able to recover 190 grams of charas and 345 Anxit tablets from their possession. “They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” police said.
Similarly, a Police party from Police Station Khag at a checkpoint established at Block Crossing Khag intercepted a suspicious person identified as Manzoor Ahmed Beigh son of Mohammad Ibrahim Beigh resident of Malpora Khag.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 100gms of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.”
Accordingly, cases vide FIR numbers 116/2021 and 24/2021 under relevant sections of the law have been registered in concerned Police Stations respectively and investigation has been initiated.
