Teachers Federation highlights demands

JAMMU, June 10: A day-long session of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation was held today under the chairmanship of Balwan Singh Jamwal.
Representatives of the central executive body participated in the session and held threadbare discussion on the situation arising out of the dilly dallying tactics adopted by the State Government to solve the genuine demands of the teaching community.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted the demands, which included strict adherence of the transfer policy, filling up of all vacant posts of teachers, Masters,  Lecturers and non-teaching staff in the educational institutions, Leave Encashment for teachers, Senior teacher grades to Under Graduates teachers, release of salary grant in time, exemption of teachers from extra academic duties, timely supply of syllabus and books, inclusion of ReT period in service record of regularized teachers and timely release of mid day meal grants.
They also expressed concern over delay in adjustment of newly promoted Masters and Lecturers.
While addressing the session, Balwan Singh appealed Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Tara Chand to take personal interest to solve the genuine demands of teaching community.
Others who addressed, included Joginder Singh Manhas, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Sudershan Sharma, Subash Sharma, Som Nath Banathia, Rakesh Chandel, Naresh Chowdhary, Daljeet Singh Bhau, Tara Chand, Jyoti Parkash, Sanjeev Singh, Mohammad Aslam, Jagdeep Singh, Inderjeet Gupta, Mohan Lal Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Jaseen Ahmad, Ajeet Singh, Ajay Sharma, Surinder Singh, Nariijan Sharma and Dinesh Singh Jamwal.
