RAMBAN, June 10: District Development Commissioner, Shyam Vinod Meena, conducted an extensive tour of far flung areas and convened public grievances camps at Ukhral, Khari and Neel Top in tehsil Banihal of district Ramban.
Responding to demands of the people, the DDC said that civil administration is abreast with the problems being faced by the people living in hilly and far-flung areas of the district and concrete steps are being initiated to address the same within the shortest possible time.
Earlier, local representatives of Ukhral apprised the DDC of their demands and problems which included up-gradation of schools, new water supply schemes, electrification of uncovered areas, shortage of staff in schools, doctors for health institutions, additional accommodation for HSS, Ukhral and snow affected schools of the area etc .
The people of Khari area putforth their problems and demands which included construction of toilet complex, passenger shed and Bus Stand for Khari, technical clearance for plying of vehicles at Kawna road, restoration of water supply schemes, over charging of travelling fare and detachments of ReT teachers.
The people of Neel demanded road connectivity to unconnected areas under PMGSY, clearance of land compensation cases, completion of ongoing road projects including Hewagan to Neel road, solar lights for the area, establishment of ration store building for Neel and issuance of new ration card.
The DDC asked the officers to complete ongoing projects within prescribed time. He also directed the officers to visit frequently far-flung areas to solve the problems being faced by the people of these areas.
