Release our salaries without further delay: NHM Employees

Srinagar, May 9: The National Health Mission (NHM) employees who are without salaries for the last 3 months now today appealed the LG Manoj Sinha to personally intervene in the matter so that they could get the salary ahead of Eid.
Around 8500 employees working under the ambit of the National Health Mission in hospitals across the UT are working tirelessly without salary for the last three months.
“We are performing our legitimate duties that too during this pandemic with zeal and zest without any risk allowances, social security benefits,” Abdul Rouf, Spokesperson NHMEA, Kashmir Division said in a statement issued.
President of the Association, Muneer Andrabi, as per the statement has urged the authorities redress the grievances of the employees especially salary should be released on priority as on the occasion of Eid we are not able to support our families to observe religious festive.
“It has become a habit on part of the Government that they never release the salary to NHM employees on time. Despite these desperate times we are working 24 hrs and augment the health services to the general masses, but in return, we have been deprived of our basic dues,” the statement quoted Andrabi.
He has urged the LG of the UT J&K to take cognizance of the issue and initiate the process about their job security, financial security and social security “so that we can put in our best and concerted efforts for the achievement of the objective of the Mission,” he said.
He said: “There is complete apathy on part of the Government and nothing seems to move. If the Government fails to address our grievances we may have to take harsher steps in future, the responsibility of which will squarely lie on the government.”
The employees urged the Government to fulfil all their demands within the shortest possible time or face agitation.
