SAMBA, May 11: Samba Police as a goodwill gesture distributed food items and eatables to poor and destitute families living in Jurisdiction of Purmandal, police station.
SDPO Bari Brahmana, Nihar Ranjan along with SHO Purmandal, Inspector kuldeep Raj distributed food items and eatables to poor and destitute families of Upper Purmandal area who are mostly based on daily earnings and whose earnings have been affected due to prevailing situation.
The ration items /eatables were distributed among the needy by the Samba Police in view of forthcoming Eid festival so that they may also celebrate the festival happily with their families.
On the occasion, the SDPO Bari Brahmana advised them to avoid social gatherings/ religious functions and not to go to each other’s homes. They were told to celebrate Eid at their own homes with families in view of surge in COVID cases.
People of the area appreciated the gesture of Samba Police especially the SDPO Bari Brahmana.
Besides this, today being Amavasya, Samba Police successfully enforced the curfew restrictions at the religious places at Purmandal as on the day there used to be heavy rush of devotees which could have lead to violation of Corona Curfew.
