Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 66 cattle rescued, 6 arrested

JAMMU, May 16: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 66 cattle and arresting six persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, teams from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket and Police Station Jhajjar Kotli headed by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh raised check points in their areas and intercepted six different vehicles having registration numbers JK02BP-3056, JK14B-1793, JK02AL-8511, JK02W-1581, JK02AE-4245 and JK02AE-3657.
During checking, police teams rescued 66 bovine animals and arrested six persons, who were identified as Fareed Ahmed, son of Jamal of District Anantnag, Abdul Majeed, son of Abdul Gani of District Reasi, Rafaqat Ali, son of Abdul Hamid of District Anantnag, Mohammad Yasar, son of Gulzar Ahmed of Kachwan Kokernag, Mohammad Yousaf, son of Mohammad Sulaman of Kansi Kassa District Reasi and Latif Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmed of Belicharana, District Jammu.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
