JAMMU, May 16: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Sharda Kumari here today provided marriage assistance kit to a poor girl in Ward 47 through Social Welfare Department.
The Government has launched many schemes through Social Welfare Department to help the families of economic weaker sections.
The Councillor provided marriage assistance kit including bucket, mattress, kitchen utensils and other necessary items to the poor girl for her marriage.
District Social Welfare Officer, Ajay Salan was also present on the occasion.
After providing the kit, Sharda Kumari appealed the general public not to wander out of their houses unnecessarily as there is a surge in Corona cases.
She said that full cooperation of the public and the government is needed to win the war against COVID-19 pandemic.
Kumari asked the people to wear masks and practice social distancing at public places.
