Bharat Nagar residents’ concern over water scarcity

JAMMU, May 16: A meeting of Bharat Nagar Enclave, Bantalab Welfare Committee was held under the chairmanship of M.K.Pandita, its president, in which various issues concerning the people of the area were discussed.
The meeting expressed serious concern about the irregular supply of drinking water to the households of the area despite the matter having been brought to the notice of Assistant Executive Engineer, Jal Vibhag, New Plots, Jammu and other higher authorities time and again.
The meeting made an appeal to Chief Engineer Jal Vibhag, Jammu to look into the matter personally and ensure the regular water supply to the area. The Committee, while highlighting its problems expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of roads and problems being faced by people due to non-installing of street lights.
In view of the surge in the current pandemic, the meeting urged the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to arrange a special sanitation drive for chemical spraying in the area so that the safety of the people is ensured at all costs.
