Zero vaccination in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 16: Amid continuous surge in COVID-19 cases and mortality, Kashmir division is facing an acute shortage of vaccines as not a single person was vaccinated in the Valley today.
As per the official data, no person was vaccinated in any district of Kashmir division today.
There has been an acute shortage of both Covishield and Covaxin for the last one week which has led to stopping of the drive.
During the last four days, only 818 doses have been administered in Kashmir.
Srinagar, the capital city which has the highest active cases at 8425 has a poor record of vaccination. So far the percentage of the people in the age group of above 45 who have been vaccinated is only 35.52.
In the city of a population of 16 lakh, only 197571 people have been vaccinated which is just 16 percent of the population.
