JAMMU, June 12: To meet the growing needs of Jammu city, Department of Posts has declared its Gandhi Nagar Head Post Office as Model Office with state of the art facilities and a range of new postal services at par with international standards.
John Samuel, Chief Post Master General Jammu and Kashmir today formally inaugurated the Philately Bureau cum Post Shop. He said that Gandhi Nagar Head Post Office has been provided with Philately Bureau cum Post Shop, apart from enlarging the counters.
As a night post office, this Post Office functions upto 8 pm on all working days and operates on Sundays and Holidays also except the three national holidays. This is one of major attractions of this Post Office.
Here, customers will be able to get a range of packaging materials, philately products, stationery products, souvenir products etc. For those interested in philately, this is a must-visit place for getting new postage stamps and philately products. The packing boxes of various sizes available at the Post Shop help the people to get their parcels duly packed in a convenient manner.
This Post Office also provides Same Day Speed Post service linking Jammu with Srinagar city on the same day, through the after-noon airline networks. Further, speed post consignments booked upto 1 pm are delivered within Jammu city on the same day evening through speed post officials riding the motor-bikes and vans.
For customer convenience, Gandhi Nagar Head Post office has been provided with Toll-free telephone number 1900 190 7500. Apart from this, the post Office also has a Customer Care centre to take care of the needs of the retail customers as well as business customers.
