JKTF calls for strike on June 15

SRINAGAR, June 12:  The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum today announced that it will stage a massive protest demonstration at the office of Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, on June 15.
In a meeting of JKTF held in Srinagar, its chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani expressed displeasure over the non-payment of salary to ReTs, teachers and others under from SSA Scheme.
“It was felt that the people at the helm of affairs are non-serious towards the issues and this negligence and non-seriousness has resulted in utter trouble of teachers the Government is forcing them to take to streets,” Mr Wani said.
The teachers will protest to press for their demands which include inclusion of rendered service of 5 years and 7 years in favour of ReTs, migrant substitute teachers, contractuals, adhocs, suitable posting of Masters, Headmasters and Lecturers, transfer policy for ReTs, besides payment of salaries to ReTs.
