Chain hunger strike by JU employees enters 2nd day

JAMMU, June 12: On the 31st day of their ongoing protest and second day of the chain hunger strike, fresh batch of five Jammu University employees began their fast in front of the Administration block on JU campus, this morning.
These employees, comprising Lal Sharma, Satpal Sharma, Rakesh Padha, and Mohinder Singh replaced the first batch in chain hunger strike.
At the venue of chain hunger strike, a large number of protesting employees also staged a sit in and raised slogans in support of their demand for regularization.
While addressing the protesting employees, Krishan Chand Sharma, president of Non Gazetted Employees Union, accused the JU authorities of being insensitive towards their most genuine demand. He also appealed the Chancellor to use his good offices for getting their demand conceded at an earliest.
