RAMBAN, May 18: A driver was killed and two others wre injured when a mini load carrier skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Gogoni area of Ramsoo here.
As per police sources, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK19 8227 was on its way to Neel from Makarkoot, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into deep gorge near Gogoni area of Ramsoo, resulting into on the spot death of driver and injuries to two others.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals started rescue operation. The injured persons were rescued and shifted to District Hospital Ramban, where their condition was stated to be out of danger, when last reports came in.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased identified as Shakil Ahmed (driver), son of Abdul Rashid Gujjar of Parnot District Ramban was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
The injured were identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Abdul Suban Shiekh and Shabbir Ahmed, son of Nizam Din Shiekh, both residents of Neel Gogoni.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
