UDHAMPUR, May 20: The BJP activists and councilors of MC Udhampur at a function held in Udhampur Municipal Council premises today under the chairmanship of Pawan Khajuria, senior vice president of the party for JKUT distributed 300 kits comprising of sanitizers, masks, hand gloves, soap and sheilds among the employees and Safai Karamcharis of Udhampur Municipal Council.
The kits were sent by Dr Jitendra Singh , Union Minister and MP from Kathua, Udhampur and Doda Parliamentary constituency.
Speaking on the occasion Pawan Khajuria said that Union Minister has despatched the kits for the corona frontline workers and local unit also contributed some more items in the same to be distributed among municipal employees and Safai Karamcharis whose contribution in no way is less than other frontline workers. He said BJP has taken up various steps for providing relief and ration among Corona hit people and others effected by lockdown. He said kits containing masks , face shields, sanitizers etc are being distributed among people at different places in the district.
He said in view of the contribution of municipal employees in this Pandemic it was decided by the party to distribute the same among these workers today.
He said BJP leaders Som Raj Khajuria and Rajesh Gupta had also contributed in it.
Those present included chairman Municipality Udhampur, Dr Yougeshwar Gupta, BJP Working Committee member, Rajesh Gupta, V C Municipality, Surinder Singh Khalsa, BJP Mandal president, Vivek Gupta, councilors Vikas Sharma, Rakesh Khajuria, Niha Verma, Anil Arora, Kush Pachayala and other BJP leaders of the district.
