Police provides ration to needy people

MENDHAR, May 20: As a part of initiative ‘We Care For You’ launched under the supervision of SSP Poonch Dr Vinod Kumar, Mendhar Police came forward to provide food and ration items to daily wagers, homeless and other needy people affected by the lockdown imposed in the area in view of Coronavirus pandemic.
Police teams of Sub Division Mendhar led by SDPO Zaheer Abas Jaffari along with SHO Mendhar Inspector Manzoor Kohli and PSI Rohit Manmaar today distributed food packets and ration items to homeless and needy people in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district.
Police reached out to people affected by the lockdown, especially daily wagers, and provided them food and ration items as a part of initiatives for the poor, whose livelihoods have been hit due to the lockdown.
Police has appealed to everyone to stay at home understanding the seriousness of the situation.
“We need to inculcate a culture of co-operation and obedience to the guidelines as provided by Government and not to come out of homes unless there is an emergency”, it said.
