JAMMU, June 13: The Kashmir Pandit Sabha (KPS) Ambphalla felicitated the meritorious students of the community at a function here today.
Vijay Bakaya MLC was the chief guest on the occasion. K K Khosa, president KP Sabha Jammu in his welcome address gave a brief about the objective of the programme and role of the Sabha in augmenting the strength of the students through guidance and financial help.
He exhorted the students not to close their eyes from streams other than the engineering, medical and management particularly the administrative services and humanities. He also emphasized the students to remain connected to its root.
Vijay Bakaya said the community has braved the storm during migration and has produced good number of corporate leaders whose prowess is world known. The efforts to improve the intellectual strength should continue. He assured all help to the students coming from weaker sections of the community.
In all 11 students of general category and seven students of migrant category from camps were presented awards and certificates by the chief guest.
Dr Mirmal Raina and Prof A N Sadhu were among others who attended the felicitation programme which was compered by the general secretary of the Sabha Mr Bagati and the vote of thanks was proposed by A K Braroo, senior vice president of the Sabha.
The students from general category who were felicitated included Sunakshi Bakshi, Aroma Bhat, Ayush Raina, Rohit Tickoo, Raveena Pandita, Himanshi Kaul, Vivek Thusoo, Akhil Pandita, Kunal Sopory, Sushant Kakroo and Akriti Suresh.
The students from migrant camp category who were felicitated included Neha Anand, Sachin Lidhu, Neha Sharma, Vivek Dhar, Anshuman Pandita, Varsha Dhar and Rohit Pandita.
