Two held for theft in Jamia Masjid Shopian

SRINAGAR, May 21:
Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two thieves who looted money from the donation box of Jamia Masjid Shopian in south Kashmir, a police spokesman said today.
He said a complaint was lodged in Police Station (PS) at Shopian that some unidentified thieves broke open the iron chest of Jamia Masjid and looted cash.
He said a case was registered and investigation taken up during which two suspected persons were summoned to PS.
However, during their questioning both the person confessed their crime, he said adding that on their disclosure police recovered stolen money. Further investigation has been taken up.
He said community members have applauded the efforts made by the Shopian Police. (UNI)
