Ladakh Skill Development Mission constituted

LEH, May 21: The Union Territory Administration today accorded sanction to the constitution of two-tier structure for the Ladakh Skill Development Mission.
The Mission will be the single point for the UT Administration to formulate and steer various skill development schemes and to bring necessary synergy, oversight and effective coordination in the implementation of various Skill Development Schemes across the departments in the UT of Ladakh.
A 19-member Governing Council, headed by Advisor to the Lt Governor as its Chairman, shall be apex decision making body and be responsible for approving the broad vision and framework for skill development in the UT. The Governing Council will meet once in six months or as frequently as may be considered necessary by the Chairman.
Besides, there shall be an Executive Committee, headed by Secretary, Technical Education & Skill Development Department Ladakh, who has been designated as Mission Director, Ladakh Skill Development Mission.
The 11-member Executive Committee shall be responsible for implementation and monitoring of all activities of the Mission as prescribed by the Governing Council and shall meet at least every three months or as often as required.
