REASI, June 13: District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, who is also chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, has prohibited movement of men, vehicles or animals along Chenab bank on June 15 & 16 2013 in view of opening of gates of Salal Hydro reservoir, which can result in rising level of water in the upstream and downstream of Salal Dam.
The public has been advised to avoid any kind of activities near and in the river bed, till warning is withdrawn.
The DDC has issued the advisory to the general public on the basis of information submitted by General Manager NHPC about water level fluctuation in river Chenab that can result in flooding of river.
