JAMMU, June 13: An Army jawan ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle, a Carbine, at 15 Field Ammunition Depot (FAD) at village Kanayala in Jindrah area under the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli police station this evening.
He has been identified as Pingal Vinod Bharat, Sepoy No. 17018182 A of 15 FAD and a resident of Maharashtra.
Reports said the jawan, who was unmarried and aged between 23 to 24 years, shot himself with his service weapon inside his barrack. He fired two shots near his neck and died on spot.
Police have registered a case for further investigations.
