JAMMU, May 24: Dr Aijaz Ahmad Beg, brother of the Dr Mehboob Beg, general secretary (organization) of People’s Democratic Party has passed away.
Apart from being the son of one of the main architects of modern Jammu & Kashmir late Mirza Mohammad Afzal Beg Sahab, Dr Aijaz was a pious soul and a great professional who devoted his life to work for people in general and marginalized sections of the society in particular.
In a statement issued here, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has expressed solidarity with Dr Mehboob Beg and his family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. Party vice president A R Veeri, general secretaries, G N Lone Hanjura and Nizam ud din Bhat, senior leader Naeem Akhter, chief spokesperson Syed Suhail Bukhari and other senior leaders have also condoled the sad demise of Dr Aijaz, expressed sympathies with bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
