Bail denied in fake currency note scam

JAMMU, May 24: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Kishore Kumar today rejected the bail application of Vipin Pandita, who was involved in fake currency note scam.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “the custody of the accused person is required by the police agency to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the printing and circulation of counterfeit agency in the market”, adding “police agency is also directed to investigate the role of the accused thoroughly whether the counterfeit currency printed by the accused persons has been used for militancy or some other subversive activities”.
“The UT of Jammu and Kashmir is fighting with militancy since long. As the militancy activities are at the peak and the use of fake currency in the criminal activities particularly of militancy cannot be ruled out”, the court said, adding “sufficient time is to be provided to the police agency to conclude the investigation on this point also and the role of the accused is such that they cannot be set free at this stage”.
“So far as the ailment of the petitioner is concerned the police agency shall provide all medical facilities to the petitioner under rules”, the court said.
