JAMMU, May 24: The SOS International–An Organization for PoK Displaced Persons has strongly and persistently demanding the restoration of post of ex-officio Provincial Rehabilitation Officer (PRO) Jammu to the Custodian of Jammu as both the posts are interlinked with each other and both are very much related with the PoJK DPs of 1947.
In a statement, the Chairman SOS International Rajiv Chuni urged the UT administration that the post and office of ex-officio Provincial Rehabilitation Officer Jammu was created to felicitate and run the affairs of PoJK DPs of 1947 so that they may not suffer at any point. But since the inception of post of ex-officio Provincial Rehabilitation Officer Jammu the government had vested this office and post with the office and post of Custodian Jammu because both the offices are equally linked with the PoJK DPs 1947 and this was the best arrangement for them.
He further said that the post of ex-officio Provincial Rehabilitation Officer Jammu has no its own office, staff, salary and other transport facility as this office was clubbed with Custodian office. With the bifurcation of both the offices and handing over the charge to other officer who is sitting in secretariat is totally unjustified and amounts to deliberately creating obstacles in the day-to-day affairs of PoJK DPs of 1947 so that they may harassed at every point.
Urging the Lt Governor about this issue, Chuni said that immediately both the offices be clubbed and the charge of ex-officio Provincial Rehabilitation Officer Jammu may be given to the Custodian Jammu so that people may not suffer more in this concern.
