Trucker among three arrested with poppy straw, opium

RAMBAN/DODA, May 25: Ramsoo and Thathri Police arrested three persons including a trucker along with poppy straw and opium.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Ramsoo led by ASI Mohammad during routine checking intercepted a Jammu bound truck bearing registration number HP72B-0378.
During checking, police team recovered around 5 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the accused, who was identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Khushi Ram of Himachal Pradesh.
A case under FIR Number 55/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
SSP Ramban PD Nitya has again appealed to the public to provide police with every bit of information available regarding sale and abuse of drugs so that the drug menace can be uprooted to save the younger generation.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Thathri led by PSI Amandeep laid a naka near Phagsoo and apprehended two drug peddlers along with 400 grams opium and Rs 10,000 cash.
The arrested persons were identified as Mashqoor Ahmad, son of Abdul Subhan Butt of Chutari tehsil Phagsoo and Liaqat Ali, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Ghadsoo.
A case under FIR Number 54/2021 under Sections 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO Thathri Inspector Amrit Katoch and SDPO Bhaderwah Gafoor Mir.
