Senior BJP leaders conduct 3-day tour of Mahore areas

REASI, June 14: A team of BJP senior leaders comprising of State vice-president Col (retd). Uttam Singh, State general secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul, Reasi distt. president Ajay Nanda undertook 3-day tour of Arnas, Mahore, Chasana and Gool areas to have direct interaction with the party activists, take stock of the party’s programmes besides assessment of the problems being faced by the people there.
Addressing a series of meetings in these areas, Col. Uttam Singh said that it is indeed shocking to see that the people living in far flung and remote areas are still deprived of basic facilities like road connectivity, communication network, health and educational infrastructure, employment etc. Although the Government makes high claims of bringing revolution in development and upliftment of the needy but today even after 65 years of independence the people in these areas are leading miserable lives.
Ashok Koul, in his addresses, said that the areas have scattered population and the Party activists have to put more efforts and devote more time to reach the people. In most of the areas, BJP activists have to travel on foot to pay visits to the people in their hour of need and help. He said that even a cursory look at the lifestyle of people here will make clear that only slogans and promises of development might have reached them but what development really is, still a dream for them. He said that the Party activists in these areas have been asked to raise the local issues with the administration so that the woes of masses are resolved.
Ajay Nanda said that Reasi district is spread over very large area with many places still reachable on foot only. Not only this, there are areas where people have to light lamps after 6 pm in the evenings as the electric poles have not reached there.
BJP district. general secretary Chain Singh, Kissan Morcha district president Dewan Chand and SC Morcha district president, Narsingh Dayal also accompanied the Party leaders during their visit of the said areas.
