JAMMU, May 26: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Sharda Devi along with Sanjogita Sudan, Health Officer JMC in collaboration with Bethel Charitable Trust (BTC) distributed ration among 100 needy families of Bethel Living Word School, Qasim Nagar and Bahu Fort in Ward 47.
Speaking on the occasion Sharda Kumari encouraged all the people to extend helping hand to the needy people in their nearby areas and help them in whatever way possible.
She appealed to the general public to strictly observe the lockdown as it has been implemented for their safety and avoid wandering outside unnecessarily.
The JMC Councillor also asked the public to wear mask and practice social distancing at public places.
Principal Bethel Living Word School & Trustee of BCT, Sophia Bhatti said, the Trust has decided to help the families of the students as most of them are daily wagers and street vendors and during the lockdown, it is very difficult for them to earn livelihood and provide food for their families.
John Roques Bhatti, Chairman BTC said that BTC is working very hard to reach the weaker section of the society by distributing dry ration and cooked food at many places.
At the end, John Roques Bhatti and Sophia Bhatti felicitated Sharda Kumari, Sanjogita Sudan and Arun Nayar ASO with mementos and Appreciation Certificates to the other members of JMC.
