JAMMU, June 14: A retired Power Development Department (PDD) Junior Engineer committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence at Gandhi Nagar.
Police spokesman said that, 60-year-old Retd PDD Junior Engineer Yashwardhan Singh, son of Goverdhan Singh, resident of 163 AD, Gandhi Nagar was spotted hanging at his residence by the family members and informed the police.
On getting information, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station rushed to the spot and shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completion of legal formalities.
A case has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
