Veteran journalist O P Sharma bereaved

JAMMU, May 29: Parmeshwri Karihuloo Sharma, wife of veteran journalist and former Deputy Director Information J&K Government, O P Sharma breathed her last today at her residence after a prolonged illness. She was 75.
An educationist Parmeshwri Sharma had retired as Planning Officer in J&K School Education Department. She was MA in Political Science with B Ed. She had served the Education Department in various capacities including Headmaster during her service period. However she remained bed ridden for two decades after suffering brain hemorrhage in 2001. She also remained in ICU at GMC for 34 long days.
She is survived by her husband, O P Sharma, son, Rajnesh Sharma, two daughters, Meenakshi and Pratibha. Her cremation will take place tomorrow at Jogi Gate Cremation Ground, Jammu at 11 am. The funeral procession will start from her Old Janipur residence to Jogi Gate. The journalist fraternity has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Mrs Sharma and showed their deepest sympathy with bereaved family.
As O P Sharma was also associated with Daily Excelsior as Special Correspondent for a long time, the staff of the newspaper organization including its Editorial Board under the chairmanship of its Editor In Chief, Kamal Rohmetra held a condolence meeting in which profound grief and shock was expressed over the demise of Mrs Sharma. The meeting paid rich tributes to departed soul and observed two minutes silence in her memory. It also expressed deepest sympathy with bereaved family.
