UDHAMPUR, May 29: A juvenile among two vehicle lifters were arrested and two stolen motorcycles were recovered from their possession.
According to Police, Anil Goswami, son of Des Raj of Ballian, Udhampur had lodged a written complaint that some unknown miscreants had stolen his motorcycle Royal Enfield, bearing registration number JK14G- 0568 from outside his house. Accordingly, case FIR number 170/21, under section 379 was registered at PS Udhampur and investigation was started.
A special team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, conducted raids at different suspected locations for the search of the thieves as well as the stolen vehicles. During the course of investigation, Police zeroed in some suspected persons and during the sustained interrogation of these suspects, one of them (juvenile) broke down and confessed the commission of offence.
On his further disclosure, his associate who was involved with him in the theft, namely Mohd Ayub, son of Arshad Mohd of Panthal, Reasi was arrested by the police and the stolen vehicle (bike) along with another stolen Pulsar bike, bearing chasis number MF2A11CZ3DCB52647 was recovered from Railway Station Udhampur.
