Hardcore criminal arrested with weapon, narcotics

JAMMU, May 30: Miran Sahib Police arrested a hardcore criminal with weapon and narcotics.
As per police sources, on specific information about narcotics smuggling, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Mirza Sultan and assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Deepak Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan laid a naka at Balol bridge and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number PB11BU-5133.
During checking, police team recovered a pistol and heroin like substance from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Jai Preet Singh, son of Joginder Singh, a resident of Preet Nagar Digiana.
Subsequently, a case under FIR Number 60/2021 under Sections 3/25 Arms Act, 8/21 NDPS Act and 51 Disaster Management Act was registered against the accused at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
During sustained questioning, 36 bottles of liquor were also recovered which were smuggled from outside UT J&K.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
