Dozens mines blast after fire on LoC

MENDHAR, May 31: Dozens of incidents of mine blasts took place along the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati area of Mendhar since last night.
Reports said after fire in the forest area today, the Army sounded alert along the Line of Control and several forward posts came under threat of the spreading fire.
It spread from POK side and then engulfed about 3-4 sq kms of area on this side of the fence.
Earlier, the fire was spotted near Kattal post of Pakistan. Thereafter, it went on spreading towards Ravi, Kranti, Kirpan and Ghora posts on this side. It also caused damage to some of the defence equipment installed along the LoC. The Army men remained busy throughout the day today to fight the fire along with civilian population. Since early morning, dozens of incidents of mines explosions were reported. No loss of human life was reported but wild life was badly affected with the forest fire.
