Srinagar, May 31 : As Corona curfew restrictions were eased out today after a month, the hustle and bustle returned to the markets in Kashmir with shops, business activities and transport services resuming partially.

Kashmir remained under strict curfew since April 29 in order to prevent the COVID-19 from spreading. Srinagar was recording huge daily positive cases following which the second phase of lockdown was announced by the Government.
The lockdown was extended five times since April 29 and ended on May 31 morning.
The life limped back to normalcy today when shopkeepers opened their shops and the public transport was back on roads since this morning with certain restrictions.
The markets witnessed hustle and bustle again today while the shoppers were seen buying the essentials like food stuff and other related items.
However, the curbs continued to remain in place in the contaminated zones across Srinagar and other places to prevent the virus from spreading.
Moreover, night curfew would continue to remain in place across Kashmir from 08:00 p.m to 07:00 a.m.
Authorities today extended the suspension of train services between Baramulla and Banihal section till June 9 in view of COVID.
Authorities said that the cancellation of train service between Baramulla and Banihal has been extended till June 9. “The UT of Jammu and Kashmir has extended the cancellation of train service in J&K from Baramulla to Banihal section and vice-versa up to 09-06-2021,” read an order.
High Court today extended the closure of access to all court complexes in J&K UT and Ladakh including both wings of High Court till June 15 as preventive measure to contain spread of COVID-19.
In this connection an order was issued by the Registrar General today. The order read that in view of the spread of COVID-19 infections, the High Court order dated 26.4.2021 read with order dated 25.5.2021 is further extended upto 15th June.
Kashmir today reported decline in COVID-19 cases with 1000 testing positive and 17 died taking the Jammu and Kashmir death toll to 3907.
Those who tested positive include 253 Srinagar, 102 Baramulla, 121 Budgam, 77 Pulwama, 181 Kupwara,   88 Anantnag, 35 Bandipora, 46 Ganderbal, 65 Kulgam and 32 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 65,163 positive cases including 771 deaths and 60,044 recoveries are from Srinagar, 21,327 including 260 deaths and 18,491 recoveries are from Baramulla, 20,236 including 17,825 recoveries and 179 deaths are from Budgam, 13,056 including 10,674 recoveries and 169 deaths are from Pulwama, 12,037 including 142 deaths and 10,031 recoveries are from Kupwara, 14,553 including 10,595 recoveries and 161 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,437 cases including 7,448 and 91 deaths are from Bandipora, 8,744  including 7,398 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ganderbal, 9,877 including 8,111 recoveries and 102 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,308 including 4,088 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 178,738 including 154,705 recoveries and 1,999 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 35,095 including 22,034 from Kashmir division.
With 4,070 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 251,463, which is 86.57 percent of the total cases.
