JAMMU, June 4: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta here today started developmental works for the improvement of Parade Ground and its adjoining areas in Ward 10.
A handout of JMC stated that these works will include construction of drain along Police Control Room, Parade; construction of retaining wall and spectators stand at Parade Ground, laying of good earth and turf grass at Parade Ground, fixing of entrance gate at Parade Ground, repair of sanitary complex, construction of CT/PT at Parade Ground, construction of shed over spectators stand towards Shalamar side in Parade Ground and other allied works.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that these development works will be completed with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 99 lakh released by the J&K government under the prestigious project ‘My Town My Pride’.
He directed the concerned engineers to complete these development works within stipulated time period by applying best quality construction materials up to the satisfaction of the public so that sportspersons and the citizens of Jammu can take full benefit of the Parade Ground by way of playing activities as well as morning and evening walks.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor; Priya Sethi, former Minister; Yudhvir Sethi, vice president BJP J&K; Narinder Sigh Jamwal, Chairperson Health & Sanitation Committee JMC; Kuldeep Singh Chairperson Social Justice Standing Committee JMC; Anil Kumar Masoom, JMC Councillor of Ward 10; Vinay Gupta, District Jammu BJP president; Parveen Kerni, Mandal East BJP president; Arun Sethi, vice president BJP Mandal East; Vipan Sharma, general secretary; Subash Anand, Suresh Bharti, secretary BJP Mandal East; R.K Mahajan, Executive Engineer; Raj Kumar Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer; Ram Pal, Junior Engineer, concerned contractor and others.
Earlier mayor started construction work of lane by lying paver tiles near Om Palace at Upper Shiv Nagar in Ward 33 wherein the estimated expenditure would be Rs. 3.30 lakh.
Ashish Bhasin, Assistant Executive Engineer; Susheel Magotra, Junior Engineer Division-II; Raj Kumar Sharma; Shamsher Singh; Krishan Verma; Balvinder Kumar; Naseeb Raj, Karan Sharma and others also accompanied the Mayor.
