Illicit liquor recovered by Miran Sahib, Domana police

JAMMU, June 4: Miran Sahib and Domana police today recovered 96 and 14 bottles of illicit liquor from their respective areas.
Acting on a tip off, a police team of police station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Sultan Mirza laid naka at Kullian area where they rounded up suspects namely Dheeraj Kumar Sharma son of Dev Raj of Indra Nagar (Miran Sahib) and Chander Bhushan son of Ram Lal of Rattian. During search, 18 grams of heroin like substance and 96 illicit liquor bottles were recovered from them.
Accordingly, two separate cases vide FIR number 62/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act and FIR number 63/2021 U/S 48 A Excise Act got registered in police station Miran Sahib and both the accused were arrested. The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta.
Subsequently, the Miran Sahib police carried out area domination and patrolling during which they recovered 400 litres of lahan which was destroyed on the spot. Further investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile, Incharge police post Pounichak PSI Anoop Kumar arrested one person namely Bunty Kumar son of Prithvi Kumar of Akhnoor (at present Udheywala, Jammu) during routine patrolling in Patta Chungi area. During checking, 14 bottles of DMT (JK special whiskey) 750/750 ml were recovered from his bag.
A case FIR number 153/2021 under Section 48-A Excise Act was registered in this connection at police station Domana and the accused was arrested. Further investigation of the case was going on. The entire operation was led by SHO police station Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Domana Deputy SP Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
