JAMMU, May 31: Orthopaedics Department, Government Hospital, Sarwal, in collaboration with Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd, organised a free Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Camp, here today.
During the camp, more than 70 patients were screened by BMD Machine and then advised by senior Orthopaedician, Dr Vijay Sabharwal and MS Orthopedics, Sarwal Hospital, Dr Rajneesh Anand.
Medical Superintendent, Government Hospital Sarwal, Dr Arun Sharma along with senior doctors and paramedical staff was also present.
Apprising about the Bone Mineral Density test, Arun Sharma said that the test measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are present in a section of our bone, which is used by a health care provider to predict the risk of bone fractures in future.
Mr Sharma said that they are organising the BMD camp every month and the public should take maximum benefit of it.
