Summer adventure camp by Army commences

UDHAMPUR, June 16: The Initiator Brigade based at Dalhousie Garrison under the aegis of Dah Division organised a summer adventure camp, in which children from families of officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and other ranks of Northern Command, Udhampur and Civil Defence employees from all over the country are taking part.
The aim of the camp was to inculcate ecological awareness, nurturing amity, national integration, develop communication skills and enhance self confidence with a sense of achievement by way of learning outdoor skills and social work in the budding minds.
The Summer Camp was inaugurated by Deputy General Officer Commanding, Dah Division at Dalhousie.
While interacting with campers, Ritu Sofat, Director, Family Welfare Organisation, exhorted children about beautiful and adventurous days ahead.
During the camp, various adventure, leisure and group activities to include trekking, rock climbing, crossing, obstacle course, tent pitching, jungle survival, treasure hunt, painting, run for fun, restoration and cleaning drive and plethora of fun-filled games will be organised.
An enthusiastic strength of 86 girls and boys would make the maximum out of the adventure camp.
