Pillion rider dies, motorcyclist injured as boulder falls on bike

UDHAMPUR, June 6: In a tragic incident, a pillion rider died while motorcyclist sustained critical injuries when their bike was hit by a big boulder which fell from the hillock near Dalsar in Ramnagar Tehsil, here today.
The deceased has been identified as Shankaru (70), son of Surjan resident of Dalsar, while the injured, identified as Sanjeev Kumar, son of Prakash Chand of Dalsar, was admitted to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar.
The accident took place this morning when a boulder from the hillock suddenly fell on motorcycle bearing registration number JK14F-0832, which was on the way from Dalsar to Ramnagar.
Locals shifted the injured persons to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar where the pillion redder succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, another road accident took place near Kanthgali Panchari when a Tipper (HR74A-0844) hit a Pedestrian, identified as Suram Chand, son of Amru, resident of Kanthgali Panchari. The injured was rushed to local hospital and then shifted to District Hospital Udhampur.
