Bharat Nagar, Pamposh Colony residents face water scarcity

JAMMU, June 6: A meeting of Bharat Nagar, Enclave Bantalab Welfare Committee was held under the chairmanship of its president, Mahraj Krishan Pandita in which various issues of the area were discussed.
The meeting expressed grave concern over scarcity of drinking water in the area and said despite taking the issue with higher ups including Rajiv Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lt. Governor and Chief Engineer, Jal Shaakti Department time and again the issue was not solved. The meeting made an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha seeking his personal intervention in the matter so that the regular water supply is ensured in the area.
The Committee also expressed concern over dilapidated condition of roads in the area. It urged the JMC to launch special sanitization drive in the area in view of present COVID Pandemic. Vinod Moza, T L Kotwal, Lekh Raj, Vinod Bhat, Satish Kumar Matoo, Ravi Raina and M K Koul attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Pamposh Colony, Sector One, Janipur have also expressed their grave concern over water scarcity in the locality. The residents said that water is supplied on alternative days and that two for 50 minutes with low pressure due to which hardly a family of four or five persons can get the water which can suffice for two days. The residents have made an appeal to the authorities to supply the water on daily basis in view of present Summer season when its need increases.
