Addressing the media persons, B.B. Nagar said that the ACB had sought details of some documents from them in a written application and for that, they had visited the office.
Nagar quoted the ACB officials who visited the office telling him that it was a routine visit. “They had sought details about some cases; I said that the details will be provided to them provided they give us in writing,” he said.
He further said that the ACB did not issue any statement regarding the alleged raid and added that it was not a raid but a routine visit only.
Nagar said that that the Passport Office Srinagar has a transparent system in place and the work is carried out as per the book. “Lot of changes have taken place here; we work for people and people are feeling change,” he said.
In a reply to a question regarding the denial of a passport to the former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, he said that in Jammu and Kashmir “we depend on police verification. If the CID office recommends not issuing a passport, we don’t provide it to anyone.”
