Srinagar, June 8: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Kupwara and recovered 2 kgs of heroin from his possession.
Police said that the officers from Police Station Karnah at a checkpoint established at Yariban Hajitra Taad area of Karnah intercepted one suspicious person identified as Naseer Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Ismail Sheikh resident of Hajitra.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 2 kgs of heroin from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, a case FIR Number 61/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Karnah and investigation has been initiated.
