Cong to hold protests over fuel price hike

Patil reviews J&K situation with PCC leaders

JAMMU, June 10: Senior AICC leader Incharge J&K Affairs, Rajni Patil, Ex-MP today reviewed the latest situation in Jammu and Kashmir with senior leaders of PCC through virtual mode and asked them to organize symbolic protests on Friday over unprecedented price hike, especially the high rates of taxes on petrol and diesel tomorrow.
A meeting of senior PCC functionaries was held at PCC office Jammu today under the chairmanship of president JKPCC, GA Mir to discuss the current political and organizational affairs in J&K besides discussing the proposed nation- wide protests by the Congress party against the unprecedented price hike of all commodities including the petrol, diesel, gas etc.
The AICC Incharge Rajni Patil also joined the meeting through virtual mode and interacted with the senior party functionaries about the covid situation, the latest political and organization affairs in the country especially in Jammu and Kashmir. Patil, who has recovered after defeating covid-19 in the recent past, expressed her deep sympathies with those who have lost their nearer & dearer ones and undergone sufferings due to covid wave 2nd. She was highly critical of the handling of the covid situation especially in lack of preparedness for the 2nd wave of covid causing lot of avoidable deaths and sufferings to the people.
She asked the party leaders to maintain close coordination and rapport with the grass root workers and people in this situation and extend all possible help at this time. She also lashed on the BJP Govt for unset price hike of all commodities of common use including petrol, diesel and gas, making the life of the poor and ordinary citizen very miserable and difficult against which Congress will hold nationwide symbolic protest tomorrow keeping in view the covid SOP.
Meanwhile, PCC president has asked all party units to hold symbolic protests while observing all SOPs tomorrow to highlight the plight of the people suffering due to unprecedented price hike.
Prominent among those present in the meeting include PCC vice presidents and former ministers Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Co-treasurer Rajnish Sharma, general secretaries PCC Balwan Singh (Ex-MLA), Manmohan Singh, Shah Mohd Choudhary, DCC president Hari Singh Chib, Secretary PCC Sanjeev Panda, Sahil Sharma, OBC Chairman Suresh Dogra, Convener Transport Wing S. Gajan Singh, senior vice president DCC Urban Jammu Dr Ramakant Khajuria, Chander Shekhar Sharma, S. Gurmeet Singh, Atul Sharma and others.
