The initiative taken by the ASSOCHAM- one of the oldest apex body of the country will benefit thousands of such patients reeling from uncertainties about their status and knowledge of the medicines to be used for the treatment of the disease.
“ASSOCHAM J&K Council has tied up with one of the best hospitals in the region – Medanta for free teleconsultation by their top doctors. Everyone in J&K and Ladakh can avail this facility provided they register through us,” said Manik Batra, Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K Council and Director Batra Group.
“ASSOCHAM and our members have always been at the forefront during the second wave with various initiatives. We had launched an app in association with NHM and JK Sahayak for real time information on bed availability and other COVID related issues for J&K. Other than that we have started a web series ‘Illness to Wellness’ at National level,” he added.
He said to avail this facility, patients can email their name, address, DOB, Mobile number and email id along with medical reports and medication to amit.khajuria@assocham.com after which they will get appointment schedule through SMS/email from Medanta.
“Medanta Hospital will be happy to serve the patients with our top doctors. The tele-consultation will be free of cost for the all the COVID patients of J&K and Ladakh routed through ASSOCHAM,” said Sudhanshu Sharma, Deputy General Manager Medanta Hospital.
Batra said the contact less treatment would be quite helpful for the patients and their family members who were looking for such opportunities at a wider scale from the health experts working with the medical institutes of international repute.
This will not only consolidate the Government’s efforts already in place but also help the patients to have a world class consultation about the treatment of the disease that has imperiled lives and economy.
Dr M A Alim, Co-Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K Council said, “The Council in another first has tied up with Medanta Hospital for tele-consultation of COVID patients under a set protocol. This will bring the treatment of specialist to the home.”
